What are the diseases that can be treated with blood stem cell transplant?

Patients who are diagnosed with various blood disorders such as leukaemia, aplastic anaemia or thalassaemia can be treated with blood stem cell transplant.

Can I donate blood stem cells?

You can donate blood stem cells by:

  • register in Malaysian Stem Cell Registry (MSCR) in Institute for Medical Research, Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur.
  • if you are pregnant, you can donate your placenta and umblical cord to Cord Blood Bank in National Blood Centre, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.
